Demolishing two houses in the unrecognized village Ber Alhamam in the Negev

The unit of "monitoring the construction" of the Israeli Ministry of the Interior, protected by the large forces of police, carried out Wednesday morning the 7th of November ,2007 two orders of demolishing two houses in the unrecognized village Bir Abu Alhamam in the Negev. The first house to be demolished is owned by the widow of Salama Hasan Abu Alata, while the second is owned to Omar Jabr Abu Alasa family.

According to the Coordinator of South in the Association of Forty, Atiya Alaasam, the two demolished dwellings were built from concrete and were built on a wide area.

The demolition forces had arrived to the village this morning with heavy mechanisms used in demolishing the Arab houses in the unrecognized villages, and under the protection of large forces of police, they demolished the two houses.

It should be noted that this unit carried out in the last two weeks  three similar crimes in which dozens of houses were demolished in the villages Taweel Abu Grol, Wadi Alniam and Bir Abu Alhamam. The Chairman of the Association of Forty, Mohammad Abu Dauf, stated that the Israeli government continues to commit crimes of house demolitions in Arab unrecognized villages, without scruples of conscience, as we see they intensify these crimes in the winter, to double the suffering of citizens. However, the authorities have failed in their attempt to put pressure on the people to evacuate their homes and villages. The Association rejects these allegations session because the ownership of the land back to its owners, the indigenous Arab citizens, and not of the State confiscated millions of acres of Arab land and then claimed ownership of it.

He added: "the Association of Forty addresses all political forums to work on preventing the policy of houses demolishing as they would not lead to any just solution to the conflict on the ground in the Negev, but exacerbate the problem and promotes conflict. Calling all the local bodies and international support of human rights move immediately to stop the policy of demolishing the homes of Arab citizens and ensure their fundamental rights protected by international treaties and documents."
